Assisting Therapeutic Practices
Problem: Worldwide, nearly 1 billion people are affected by mental disorders, mostly anxiety and depression. These conditions can be effectively treated, yet health systems remain significantly under-resourced.
Our Solution: We assist traditional therapeutic practices by providing AI-assisted gamified VR interventions to train psychological flexibility. These VR 'games' are based on methodologies that have been shown to be efficacious for a variety of conditions, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and chronic pain. Thus, we relieve pressure from the system by focusing on: 1. Prevention, by fostering a culture of mental hygiene. 2. Support, by allowing therapists to reduce the time needed with each patient, and 3. Continuity, as it can be used as a tool to reinforce and stabilize outcomes after therapy.
Improving Hospital Experiences
Problem: In today’s hospitals, both patients and healthcare workers face numerous challenges related to their environment. Long stays, lack of positive sensory experiences, and high levels of stress are common pain points for patients, while healthcare providers struggle with burnout and limited resources.
Our Solution: Our MVR experiences offer patients a transformed healing environment, enhanced rehabilitation, and improved pain management resulting in enhanced patient comfort, accelerated recovery time, and improved treatment outcomes. For healthcare workers at hospitals, our multisensory worlds reduce burnout and improve well-being by offering restorative pauses in a stressful environment.
Neurodiversity at Workplaces
Problem: The sensory and cognitive capabilities of the neurodiverse population force them to face challenging situations at work including difficulty staying organized, sensory overload, and problems managing workload.
Our Solution: Workplaces need to keep this in mind while designing their space in a less rigid and more mindful manner to include the sensory needs of all co-workers. Our multisensory chamber (MSC) with tailor-made content provides a sensory oasis to retune and relax. Through soft lighting and sound healing, we help you calm down while you play a game, learn a new skill, or perform a mindful breathing exercise.
Multisensory Research Labs
Problem: Scientists often constrain their experimental designs based on the limits imposed by what they believe is achievable within the lab. Can you imagine recording brain signals while your test subjects explore a city rich in odors, wind, temperature changes, etc.?
Our Solution: MVR provides you with a flexible, controllable multisensorial environment, where your test subjects can perform a variety of tasks relevant for the study of perception, attention, decision making, learning and memory, social cognition, etc. within an ecologically relevant virtual world. We achieve this via a multisensory chamber (MSC) in which any regular VR experience can be extended by including odors, temperature changes and wind. These extra modalities induce a powerful immersive experience in your test subjects and expand the dimensionality of any cognitive task. Furthermore, the MSC can be modified according to your needs (e.g. to fit biosensing devices) and we assist you in developing the experimental protocols best suited to your needs.
